How do I take the wires off of a dryer heating element?

I scarcity to take off the broken heating element...but I can't figure out how to pull off the wires or whatever I am suppose to do.

Theres an annoying click/thump now. I took everything by oneself again and put everything back together. Made solid everything was screwed in tight-fisted, and that the drum wasnt hitting something fundamentally. The thump seems to be brought to someone's attention when one of seems on the drum goes by a non-specific situation in the dryer but I cannot find anything. It does it sometimes then other times it doesnt.
