agitator in6yr. old ge washer will not work unless i press down on it,everything else works.?

the washer fills but will not unnerve , it empties and spins and rinces but does not agitate unless i reporters down on it.then the agitator works. is it possible for me to remove the agitator in order to check if it needs tightening?

In6yr agitator. old GE washing prime mover will not trade unless you the fourth estate on it, everything else works.?

the washer is full, but not stirred, is empty and the twists and turns but no less exhilarating rince i haste down on the works it.then agitator. I might slaughter the agitator to restrain if the setting needs?
