hot water tap leaking, shut everything of but its still running?

I spoil on my hot water tap in the kitchen and when I went to turn it off it started vibrating and making excursions and the hot water would not turn off, I turned it off full, turned of the hot water system and its is still running but at a slow anyhow,

There is a valve on the hot water heater that will cut off b separate off the water to it. If you turn it off the hot water will stop leaking for the night then you can fix it in the morning.
