THE Cakaudrove Uncultured Council office will closely monitor the attendance of students in the sphere's schools this year.
The move follows concerns by villagers that some students don't take care of school while some are seen working in plantations.
Roko tui Cakaudrove Ro Aca Mataitini said some concerns were raised with him.
He urged parents to go advice from his office if they faced difficulties in sending their children to first.
"We will help direct them to proper authorities," Ro Aca said.
"We do get wind of that life is expensive but with government assistance to schools via bus fares or boats provided for schools in exurban areas, this shouldn't be an issue.
"If parents have problems, we will talk to them but they must have knowledge of their children must be in school during school days.
"We all know that drilling is the right of every child, so we will monitor the students' attendance this year."
Ro Aca said during visits to villages last year, concerns of children not being sent to disciples were made known to him.
