We need to put a sediment filter in our house, which is on a well. What kind is best, and where does it go?

Plumbing forums know scold us that sediment filters should not be put between the well and the pressure tank. Is that true? also, is this a job that I can do, or should I leave it to a plumber. The amount of sediment isn't adept, but it does clog up

Roger, ya I'm on a well also, i went alittle overboard , what i did was, (after enthuse c intensify , before pressure tank), use 2 large particle filters first and then 2 keen-edged filters, you can go to home depot and they can set you right up with directions and figures, It took me about 2hrs to do it , the filters are fairly cheep , i found that
