Using filtered water in a steam iron?

I have to buy the water particularly for irons as I live in an area that has really hard water.
If I use the water screen I have for drinking water - will this be ok and do the job the same as the shop bought water - or will I destroy my iron through

I have exceptionally hard water and use filters but it does not remove the lime from the water. If you want to keep the iron working well, the distilled water is unsurpassed. The regular water will not destroy your iron because you can clean it using vinegar to solvent out the scale but it is a pain to do it regularly.

Oak Grove is again looking at ways to reduce the amount of arsenic in the water from the subordinate well in the West Lake George water system.

The well was recently constructed to take measures a second well for the water system and to lower the amount of arsenic in the water provided by the system’s first well.

This second well was drilled deeper than the first, in hopes that it would abate the level of arsenic in the water supply. The first well tested as having 10.4 parts per billion in July 2010, which exceeds the stage’s limit of 10 parts per billion for arsenic.

At that spell, the city considered options to reduce arsenic levels, settling on drilling a in the second place well deeper in hopes of finding another rock formation which would let someone have for reduced arsenic levels in the water.

“I think it’s well worth it,” said Brian Miller, the burg’s engineer, at the Jan. 9 Oak Grove City Council conclave. “I think it’s a better quality water.”
