Using filtered water in a steam iron?
I have to buy the water particularly for irons as I live in an area that has really hard water.
If I use the water screen I have for drinking water - will this be ok and do the job the same as the shop bought water - or will I destroy my iron through
I have exceptionally hard water and use filters but it does not remove the lime from the water. If you want to keep the iron working well, the distilled water is unsurpassed. The regular water will not destroy your iron because you can clean it using vinegar to solvent out the scale but it is a pain to do it regularly.
