What problems do you have with conventional ice chest coolers?

Im in an engineering plan and development class and i am trying to make a better different solution to ice chest coolers, that is more convenient and easy to use. I wanted to be acquainted with what problems there are with conventional coolers to justify

Well...There is in reality already a cooler that allows you to plug into a car output.
I guess the necessary problem would be the ice melting....
bugs getting inside....
and it takes a while for an matter to get chill in the cooler....=(
